Making a Claim

How the Process Works.

Our goal is to get your machine running again as fast as possible. Most issues are resolved remotely the same day — without waiting for a technician visit or shipping parts back.

1
Contact Our Support Team

Call us at 514 644-3177, send an email, or open a support ticket. Describe the issue and your machine model. Our bilingual team responds the same business day.

2
Remote Diagnosis First

In most cases we connect via TeamViewer, phone, or video call to diagnose the issue remotely. This resolves the majority of problems without any downtime waiting for a visit.

3
Parts Shipped or On-Site Dispatch

If a part needs to be replaced, we ship from our Montreal inventory as quickly as possible. If the issue requires a technician on-site, we dispatch — travel expenses may apply and will be communicated in advance.

4
Back in Production

Our technicians do everything they can to minimize costs and downtime. Our goal is to get you back in production — fast.

Warranty Exclusions

What Is Not Covered.

We believe in being clear — not burying exclusions in fine print. These situations fall outside the warranty but our support team is always here to help you find the best resolution.

Misuse or Abuse

Damage resulting from operating the machine outside of its rated specifications, incorrect tooling use, or improper material handling.

Normal Wear & Tear

Consumable parts and components that wear through regular production use — router bits, collets, brushes, belts, and spoil boards.

Unauthorized Modifications

Any modification, repair attempt, or part replacement performed by anyone other than an authorized SMX technician will void the warranty on affected components.

Travel & Accommodation

On-site technician dispatch may incur travel and accommodation costs. These are always communicated upfront and kept to a strict minimum.

Warranty disclaimer: SMX CNC Warranty covers defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty Period of two years from the date of delivery. The warranty does not cover any problem caused by misuse, abuse, normal wear, or damage not resulting from defects in electronics, material, or workmanship. Modified or repair-attempted parts will void the warranty on those components. Travel expenses for on-site service often fall outside of our warranty and will incur additional costs, however our technicians do everything they can to keep any costs to a minimum or avoid extra costs altogether.

Preventive Maintenance & Machine Care

Keep Your Machine
Running at Its Best.

Most premature wear and unplanned downtime is preventable. A consistent operator routine handles the day-to-day — and when you need a deeper inspection, our technicians come to you.

Empty vacuum table dust and check filter/collection bag
Verify spoil board condition — surface, flatness, and vacuum seal
Check router bits for wear, chipping, or burning before each run
Confirm E-stop and safety systems respond correctly
Weekly Once per week
Lubricate all axis lead screws and linear guides per SMX spec
Blow out controller cabinet and electrical enclosure with compressed air
Inspect all drag chain cables for pinching, cracking, or fraying
